2014 Protea and SADSAA Nominations

Anglers interested in nominating for SADSAA and Protea as listed below must have their nomination forms in with Lynette Adams lynadams@mweb.co.za latest 20th July 2014

Nominations are hereby called for a three person team to represent South Africa ( Protea  colours ) at the 74th ILTTA Championship to be held in Guatemala between the 1st and 7th December 2014.This will be a 10kg line, full release billfish tournament.

We have yet to receive the official invitation but it is likely that the entrance fee will be approx. $2,500 USD per person which excludes airfares and accommodation.

Nominations are hereby called for three person teams to represent SADSAA at the Tri Nationals to be held at Sodwana Bay between the 16th and 21st November 2014.

The entry fee is R4,750 per team and it is an own boat tournament.

  • A SADSAA team for the Heavy Tackle Billfish Nationals. This is a 37kg tournament.
  • A SADSAA team for the Light Tackle Billfish Nationals. This is a 10kg tournament.
  • A SADSAA team for the Gamefish Nationals. This is a 6kg tournament.
  • A SADSAA under 19 team for the Light Tackle Billfish Nationals. This is a 10kg tournament.
  • A SADSAA under 19 team for the Gamefish Nationals. This is a 6kg tournament.
  • A SADSAA Masters team for the Heavy Tackle Billfish Nationals. This is a 37kg tournament.
  • A SADSAA Masters team for the Light Tackle Billfish Nationals. This is a 10kg tournament.
  • A SADSAA Masters team for the Gamefish Nationals. This is a 6kg tournament.

Nominations must be received by the convenor of the selection committee, Mr Barry Turk by not later than Monday 28th July 2014

New visa requirements for South Africans for Kenya

NEW VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR SOUTH AFRICANS

This is to notify that the Government of the Republic of Kenya has with effect from 1st July, 2014 decided to introduce the following measures for the South African nations  who wish to visit Kenya;

Ordinary Visa applicants travelling to or transiting through Kenya will be required to pay a service charge of R 750 ($70).

Holders of Official or Diplomatic Passports travelling on Government business are not affected by these changes and will continue to get visitor’s Passes on arrival at the ports of entry.

All applicants will be required to produce the following documents:

1. Return Air Ticket
2. Invitation letter from the host in the Republic of Kenya
3. Letter from employer/Institution/College/School
4. Proof of funds (bank statement)
5. Applicants must appear in Person for Biometrics
6. 2 Passport Photographs.

The High Commission further wishes to inform that the Visa Service Fees payments should be made at the Kenya High Commission/Embassy premises and Visas will no longer be issued on arrival in Kenya. It should be noted that the processing period for the visas is strictly five (5) working days.
