The new RSA SafeTrx App monitors your boat journeys and alerts Emergency Contacts should you fail to return on time.

RSA SafeTrx is a Smartphone App for both Android & Apple iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) that allows you to plan your journey on your Smartphone.

Directly from your Smartphone you can enter your journey details and set off knowing that should you not return by the time given, your Emergency Contact will be alerted and advised to initiate appropriate action. Where an Emergency Contact calls the MRCC concerning an overdue trip, they will have access to your location and SafeTrx Trip data through a secure SafeTrx server. Since the RSA SafeTrx app periodically sends your location data back to our servers, the NSRI’s response team can get help directly to you, and quickly.

2015 Zinkwazi Interclub Result

Congratulations to Magriet Nel on being placed Top Lady Angler at the Zinkwazi Interclub held 30-31 May 2015. Magriet landed a 21.4Kg Wahoo which helped her team place 5^th out of 17 teams.

2015 Committee Changes

Dear Nomads members,

Kindly note that Wynand Wiering has stepped down as Vice Chairman and Competitions Officer of Nomads GFC for business reasons. Wynand is still involved with certain aspects of the club’s duties so he is not completely lost to us.

Colin Green has been appointed as Acting Vice Chairman, and Tyron Gruar as Competitions Officer, until the AGM in November where these portfolios will come up for re-election. We as a committee have every confidence in their ability to carry out their duties and we thank them for accepting the extra work load.

2015 Nomads Closed at Mapelane

MAPELANE SKI BOAT CLUB
ISIMANGALISO WETLAND PARK, KWAZULU NATAL
MONDAY 29 JUNE 2015 TO FRIDAY 3 JULY 2015

ENTRY FEE: R2,300 per angler (Non anglers R1,000)

This includes:

5 – 7 nights accommodation at Mapelane Ski boat Club
Dinner, beach lunch and happy hour for the competition days
Security Guard for boats on the beach

It is important to read the second notice contained in the attachment.

In a nutshell, to save yourself some trouble and to buy yourself some time, make sure that your 2016 seaworthy ticket/CoF is issued BEFORE 1st January 2016.

Effectively this will mean that you will NOT be required to have a VHF DSC radio fitted for seaworthy purposes, only your current 29Mhz, – until the following 2017 boat inspection, and between now and then who knows what will happen?
