Conditions applicable to the awarding of Nomads Trophies

In order to qualify for one of the Nomads trophies, the incumbent must be a Nomads member at the time of the competition and be in good standing with the club at the time of the annual awards.

Meritorious: deserving reward or praise.
If you describe something as meritorious, you approve of it for its good or worthwhile qualities.

Official Nomads Competitions

  • Rosebowl
  • Nomads Closed
  • Any other Nomads organised competition for the club members e.g. Nomads Winter competition

Combined scoring

  • Different scoring rules may be used at each competition
  • For Nomads trophy purposes, scores need to be consolidated over the various competitions
  • A common scoring baseline needs to be used across all competitions i.e.
    • Same score / weight for billfish per line class
    • Same minimum weights for all gamefish
    • Same bonus points applicable across the competition
  • The baseline for all consolidated competitions will be the rules that were in effect at that year’s Rosebowl
  • In the event that any Nomads competition employed different rules, these rules will stand for that specific competition but for consolidation purposes the entire competition will be re-calculated using the Rosebowl rules for that year so as to ensure conformity across all competitions for the year.

Evaluation criteria – Gamefish categories
